About Me

Shelley Cook

Shelley Cook

I hate writing exclusively about myself, so this is tricky for me.

I live in San Antonio, but I’ve also lived in Fredericksburg and Richmond and Roanoke, Virginia, Littleton, Colorado, and Ventura county, California.

I am married to the military part time and have 2 greyhounds. I am interested in the changing face of communications, Greyhound adoption, Disabilities Advocacy, Devouring books, Home improvement, saving Women’s collleges, Bringing grassroots nonprofit’s into the 21st century, and cultural effects of technology. Among other things.

Odd Facts:

  • My family photos are different than yours. I have a photo of my great grandfather hanging a man. (he was the sheriff in Laramie, Wyoming in 1889.)
  • My D.A.R.E. essay in 6th grade won the school contest. I still have the medal.
  • Normal people scare me. I fight becoming one of them.
  • I can’t keep my attention span long enough to cook a full meal. Funny considering what my married name ended up as: Cook.
  • I am the incomplete queen. No autographs please.
  • My favorite foods are any kind of dough and cottage cheese mixed with applesauce.
  • I have an irrational fear of plastic bags on roads, and will swerve to miss running over them.
