Hippy-Hippy, Shake-Shake your way to Summer Nights!

It was a normal day. Kinda dull. Not having known better, I walked into Sea World expecting a cerebral meeting of San Antonio’s  Social Media Club. Boy, am I naive!

I went a bit nuts at this event. I hope you understand. If you stare at computer screens all day like I do, you start to develop boring neurotransmitters deprived of all good feeling serotonin. In my defense, I did not drink a crazy amount of beverages. However, I did partake of the happy serotonin overload. I couldn’t help myself.

Sea World San Antonio’s Summer Nights starts tomorrow, and having a preview of the show makes me an expert on how much fun you can have there. A LOT. Based on my newly formed expertise, I can tell you that I don’t know a soul who would have handled that much fun overload any differently. Well, maybe they wouldn’t try to start a mass uprising of hippy shaking the crowd backsides, or encourage high fives from performers or taunt them to make use of the splash zone, but they would think about it. Riiigghht?

I sat in the splash zone but experienced low ROI

When the video of my booty shakin’ gets posted, I’ll share. Why not?

( Video posted HERE courtesy of Ed Lozano)

“Cool Vibrations” was definitely suggestive of cool breezes, though not convincing for our 100 degree heat. But I almost felt the seabreeze though– or maybe that was just the dancing. They’ve got a great set of dancers and wakeboarders and waterskiers– what a blast of a summer job! They get a tan and get to waterski all day! I was pretty impressed with their energy. They held up under brutal heat and got my butt up and acting like a 5 year old. I was even more impressed that the makeup didn’t melt. I didn’t give myself a chance to ask though, because there was dessert to eat at another location. I’m a master consumer of sugary substances. Duty called.…

Onto “Pirates Plunder”-a cute show that fortunately kept us in the shade. My sugar high kicked in at this point, so what I remember is HAZY at best. I said AERRGGH! alot, and wore my foam pirate hat with pride. My plastic sword was cleverly lodged in my beltloop from my work pants (I’m so savvy for a corporate pirate), I remember holding my sword with my teeth and posing for pictures, and I remember really wanting to jump on the zip line in the theater. Side note: sorry Sea World, I can’t control my inattention sometimes. Forgive the AD/HD here. I don’t remember much of plot line other than a wedding and an awesome woman pirate costume, but it was still a great show! Oh, yeah, and the surprise SPLASH which was a welcome relief!

While we only saw two shows, I can’t wait to go back and see more of what Summer Nights has to offer. I really want to see the animal shows. I personally relate to sea lions. I can stare at them for hours. But I married a professional walrus impersonator. Tough call on where I would go first. Shamu could break that dilemma in half. If I could kiss Shamu and wiggle my toushie with him/her, I’d run into that theater at 6 am and wait all day. But only if I get to sit in front of a mister fan. Gawd, it was hot out there.

Aww…looks like you had a lot of fun. I wish I could’ve gone. Maybe once Ryan gets home and we can tagteam the wild woman. I’m also going to have to remember to ask Howie to do his walrus impersonation. I had no idea he was so talented!

  • What better way to launch your summer program than with enthusiastic friends like you, Shelley! Sorry we didn’t get to connect personally. Come back soon1
